You won’t believe these BBC Employee Perks.

Written by the ERIC team.

Gone are the days where free biscuits with a mahogany-shaded brew will keep a smile on our workplace faces.

What’s wrong with asking for a little more? Well, it seems to be that mind readers do exist among us as the BBC stocks-up on employee perks. Most of the benefits and rewards of course are under wraps but I managed to uncover the handful outlined below:

The BBC Club

An exclusive and not for profit members’ club for BBC staff (everyone likes a members club, right) offering you major deals, discounts for access to facilities across the nation.  In addition to free entry to a number of BBC Club-managed  bars and restaurants that offer a huge number of social opportunities. The club also has it’s very own lottery (jackpot 1K every month/ 10K every 3 months). I’ll say no more!

An additional day off between Christmas and New Year

Because Christmas is the time for giving, after all.

Cycle to Work

As a BBC staff member you could be entitled to up to £1,000 voucher paid to into your salary for you to purchase a bike and equipment for your work commute. Where’s the bicycle pump at? I’m in!

The BBC Academy

BBC staff have access to hundreds of courses through the in-house academy. From learning the latest technology to taking your career in a completely new direction. Their courses aim to educate, entertain and develop not solely the BBC but the wider industry.

Outreach and Charity Opportunities

Many departments offer a range of outreach opportunities, from mentoring young people as they develop news skills with BBC News School Report to working with BBC Children In Need and Comic Relief. The BBC makes a conscious effort to put in place opportunities which benefit their employees and the wider community.

If these employee perks don’t tickle your pickle then I don’t know what will? I’d start spamming the Talent team now!!
